Michele
Michele SimmererMichele has owned Colorbox since 1999. Before that she worked for many years in the Lower Haight, The Castro, and Soma districts of San Francisco.
Hair is her number one passion, but she has many other talents and interests. She is a cat lover and volunteers for the SPCA, she enjoys camping and is an expert on traveling to off-the-grid places all over the world. She loves tiki kitsch and anything about Hawaii, where she plans to retire someday.
Adrienne
Adrienne Azzarais now with
Saviors SalonAdrienne has been working in San Francisco salons since 1995. Her extensive training includes that of Vidal Sassoon, Framesi, Redken 5th Ave, Carlton Hair International, Bumble and Bumble and more.
She specializes in highlights and color, including color correction, but also enjoys giving every client a haircut to suit his or her individual needs.
Adrienne loves diversity and her clientele reflects that; ranging from the classic, polished professional to hipster, punk, goth and rocker chic. Adrienne has worked in several salons in the Haight and Downtown SF, before finding her home at Colorbox in 2009.
Besides hair, Adrienne's real passion is music. She also loves cats, traveling, cooking, and watching hockey.
Nicola
Nicola Nordstrom-WrightOriginally from Manchester, England; Nicola started working professionally in San Francisco hair salons in 1997.
She has been trained in the precision and razor-cutting schools of Sassoon, Toni and Guy and Bumble and Bumble. Nicola has worked in Union Square at Cinta, and then for many years at and Cowboys and Angels Salon, where she became well-versed in all hair types and textures, including African-American and Asian hair. She has been working at Colorbox Salon since 2003.
Nicola also has years of experience as a talented dressmaker. She is a world traveler, and has lived for a time in Mexico and Australia but loves having the Bay Area as her home. She enjoys cooking, and has a passion for music, especially Opera.
Gina
Gina HidalgoWith over two decades of experience, Gina has traveled the world perfecting her craft. Her training has included that of Vidal Sassoon, Oribe, Rusk, Perma, TiGi, and Bumble and Bumble; in London, NYC, Miami and beyond.
Her specialties are barbering and creative cut and color, and and she has been called "aggressive". "enticing", and "edgy". She is always open and welcoming to the most creative styles. She has been the stylist to some of San Francisco's premiere local celebrities and we are very fortunate to have her as the newest member of the Colorbox family.
Besides her passion for hair, Gina enjoys fashion, traveling and living life to the fullest!

About Us
Established in 1999, Colorbox Salon is a cozy boutique salon located just one block from Dolores Park, between the Mission and Castro districts of San Francisco. We are all seasoned, unpretentious hairdressers who are experienced in all types and textures of hair.
Our cutting and coloring styles range from the classics to the most cutting edge, post- modern styles.Our goal is to listen to all our clients carefully and advise them on what will look best on them based on their needs and individual styles. We carry professional retail products by Redken and Sexy Hair Concepts, and use color by Framesi, Goldwell, Matrix, Pravana, Redken and Special Effects.
Location
We are located on the J-Church Muni line. We are close to many other Muni underground and bus lines. Church Street Station is four blocks from the salon. 16th Street Bart Station is an easy walk away.
If driving, please allow time to find street parking. There is a bike rack right in front of the salon.
